Project Homecoming is a short-term meal delivery program designed to provide out-going patients a smooth recovery upon their release from these local hospitals: Boulder Community Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, Avista Adventist Hospital and Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center. It is a collaborative effort between three Meals on Wheels agencies in Boulder County, and as a result this service is available to virtually all of Boulder County.
The service entails delivery of 5 free meals to individuals of any age or income being released from the aforementioned hospitals. It is for those who do not have immediate plans – or the ability – to provide food for themselves when they leave the medical facilities. These delicious hot meals are delivered at noon by Meals on Wheels volunteers. Frozen meals are available for weekends.
It’s free for 5 days – with absolutely no strings attached!
Determining which Meals on Wheels agency will provide Project Homecoming is based on where patients live, regardless of what medical facility they are released from. Residents of Lafayette, Louisville, Superior and Erie may sign up online or call us at 303-665-0566.
Residents of Boulder, Gunbarrel or Eldorado Springs should contact Meals on Wheels of Boulder at 303-441-3908; residents of Longmont, Niwot or Lyons should call Longmont Meals on Wheels at 303-772-0540.
