Ways to Give

As an independent, community-based nonprofit organization, Coal Creek Meals on Wheels (CCMOW) depends on contributions from generous and compassionate community members like you to provide hot meals and daily well-checks to senior and homebound neighbors in need. There are many ways to give to Coal Creek Meals on Wheels.

1. Become a Day Sponsor

Day Sponsors help cover the cost of meals for clients that can't afford to pay. The cost is $250 and you can sponsor multiple days. On the day(s) that you sponsor, you'll be thanked on our Facebook and Instagram account for sponsoring that day's meals. We'll also put a card in each meal naming you a partial sponsor. Learn more about Day Sponsors here.

2. Make a One-Time Gift

Make a one-time gift by donating online or mailing your check to Coal Creek Meals on Wheels, 455 N Burlington Ave, Lafayette, CO  80026.

3. Shop at King Soopers

With the King Soopers Neighborhood Rewards Program, you can end senior hunger and isolation in our community while buying your gas and groceries—at no additional cost to you!  Click here for more information.

4. Donate a Vehicle

Give to CCMOW and get rid of an unwanted vehicle at the same time. Donate your automobile, truck, van, recreational vehicle, motorcycle, dirt bike, tractor, boat or trailer, and CCMOW will receive 70-80% of the amount it sells for at auction. Call Vehicles for Charity at 1-866-628-2277 or visit their website to set-up your vehicle donation today.

5. Give Stock

Giving stock to CCMOW provides meals and daily well-checks to neighbors in need and tax benefits to you.  If the stock has been held more than 12 months you can receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift and avoid capital gains.

6. Ask Your Workplace to Give

CCMOW is fortunate to operate in an area where local companies are committed to giving back to their communities. An easy way for your company to support CCMOW is by sponsoring our annual fundraising luncheon. By sponsoring the event, businesses ensure that every dime we raise at the event goes into providing hot meals and daily well-checks to neighbors in need.

7. Ask Your Corporation to Match

Does your company match charitable contributions? If so, you could double your donation to CCMOW and double your community impact. Many local companies have corporate matching programs and CCMOW is grateful to be listed as an eligible organization to give to. Find out today if your company matches contributions and ask what necessary forms need to be completed to make your donation go twice as far. Learn more about matching gifts here

8. Give with Facebook

Did you know that you can turn your birthday into a mini-fundraiser on Facebook? Donating your birthday is a meaningful and fun way to celebrate your birthday while raising money to provide hot meals and daily well-checks to seniors and the homebound in your community. To set it up, select Coal Creek Meals on Wheels when you’re prompted to “donate” by Facebook on your birthday. You’ll set a goal amount and enter a custom message. Friends will see the post and a prompt to donate. The mini-fundraiser is automatically public, ends at midnight on your birthday, and CCMOW receives a check in the mail about a month later.

9. Plan a Gift

A bequest is one of the easiest and most meaningful gifts you can plan to make. With the help of an attorney, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift to be made to Coal Creek Meals on Wheels as part of your estate plan and leave a lasting legacy in your community.
