Karen moved from Anaheim, California to Boulder Colorado in 1989 and has never looked back. She worked in the craft beer industry before joining Culinary School of the Rockies, where she was the C.O.O.  Upon selling that business, her mom became ill and then passed away. Karen, along with her siblings, helped care for their dad, eventually moving him into an assisted living community. That experience prompted her to open GingerSugar, a professional organizing business specializing in Seniors and Senior Move Management.  She continues to live in Boulder with Pickles the dog, Annie the cat, and her husband Doug. They love to camp, dirt-bike ride and drink craft beer. Karen joined the board of MOW in the fall of 2021.
