The cost per meal is on a sliding scale based on self-reported income. Clients pay anywhere from $0-$7 per meal. We do not require proof of income.
We bill clients monthly for the meals they have received. Monthly invoices are sent via mail on approximately the 5th day of the month for the month prior. We accept cash, check, and credit card payments. We can also send the bills to a secondary bill payer (family member, case manager, friend, etc.) each month.
We serve residents of Erie, Lafayette, Louisville, and Superior.
CCMOW serves anyone in need of a ready-to-eat meal and daily well-check, regardless of age, income, or documentation status. We serve older adults, people living with disabilities or chronic physical and cognitive illnesses, low-income families, and anyone else in need. We do not require any documentation from clients in order to provide services.

Yes, others in your household can sign up for the meal delivery program.
Meals are delivered Monday-Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
All meals are delivered by screened and trained volunteers.
No, you do not need to be home to receive meal deliveries. Clients are required to put a cooler or insulated bag (which can be provided by CCMOW) on their doorstep if they will not be home at the time of delivery. Volunteers will place the client’s meal(s) in the cooler or insulated bag. We cannot leave a meal if there is no cooler.
A volunteer will arrive at your home with your meal. They will knock on your door and announce “Meals on Wheels” so you know who they are. We encourage you to come to the door to receive your meal and say hi to the volunteer. If you prefer not to, we can provide a cooler for you to keep outside your door where the volunteer will leave your meal.
Please call our office to let us know if you do not receive your meal. You can reach us at 303-665-0566.
Microwave: puncture film cover over all compartments. Heat meal on high for 2-3 minutes, stir, remove vegetables and heat for an additional 3 minutes until hot (all meals are fully cooked).
Tips for best results: Before reheating your meal, defrost it by taking the meal out of the freezer and putting it in the refrigerator overnight. If thawed, your meal may reheat faster. In the microwave, reheat a thawed meal for 2 minutes, then at 30-second intervals until fully reheated.
Meals reheat best when heated on a plate or separate container.
We can provide meals to meet many dietary needs/restrictions, including vegetarian, soft/cut up food, pureed food, allergies, and medical restrictions. This information will be collected when you sign-up for meal delivery services.
We are happy to talk with you about changing your diet to meet your medical and health needs. Please call us at 303-665-0566 to discuss any changes.
Coal Creek Meals on Wheels is closed on weekends and for most public holidays. Clients can sign up to receive frozen meals to be delivered before the weekend and any holiday closure. Each winter, we provide clients with a “Blizzard Bag” full of non-perishable food items in case we are unable to deliver regular meals due to inclement weather conditions.
Coal Creek Meals on Wheels posts about closures on the main page of our website, on our social media pages, and on the doors at Josephine Commons.
Meals can be delivered as long as there is a need for services. Some people receive meals for a short period of time, while others become long-time clients.
Each meal delivery includes a sealed hot tray with the main entrée and any warm sides and a cold bag with items to accompany the entrée. All meals are served with two or more of the following: salad, fruit, starch, vegetable, or dessert.
All information you provide to Coal Creek Meals on Wheels is kept confidential. We will not share your information with anyone outside of our staff without your permission.
