Thank you to our community partner, the Lafayette Flatirons Church, for your continued support and providing Coal Creek Meals on Wheels a $10,000 in 2023! Flatirons Church has been donating to Coal Creek Meals on Wheels since 2016, with several members volunteering for CCMOW on a regular basis.
The Lafayette Flatirons Church is one of Flatirons Church’s 5 locations around the Denver-Boulder area. The Lafayette Flatirons Church was launched in 1994 as Boulder Creek Community Church, with a name change to Coal Creek Community Church in December 1994, followed by another name change to Flatirons Community Church in 1997. The church has steadily grown over the last two decades and now has over 19,000 attendees across all five campuses each weekend. Flatirons Church was ranked the 11th largest church in the United States.
Flatirons Church offers both in-person and online services, and they have an ASL interpreted service. They play both worship songs as well as pop songs during their services. Flatirons Church moved into their current building in Lafayette on April 16th, 2011.
The $10,000 gift from Flatirons Church has enabled Coal Creek Meals on Wheels to provide countless individuals with nutritious meals and social contact. Courtney Baker, Lafayette Campus Administrative Coordinator, shared that “Flatirons Church supports Coal Creek Meals on Wheels because they provide food to individuals and families in our area when they are struggling to do so. Meals on Wheels is also a great place for us to point people to if they want to serve in their community.”
Recently, members of the Flatirons team came to CCMOW to film a video showing the work that we do and the impact the gift and the volunteer hours from Flatirons is having on our neighbors in need. They will be using these video to share their community impact with their members and encourage more people to support CCMOW! Thank you for supporting Coal Creek Meals on Wheels and our local community, Flatirons Church!
