A Legacy Rooted in Love and Community

Kevin spent more than 40 years in Colorado — building a life grounded in friendship, hard work, and kindness. He was known for his easy laugh, his deep love of animals, and his willingness to lend a hand whenever someone needed one.

He ran his own window cleaning business, built on the simplest of values: trust, relationships, and a handshake. “He earned his reputation in the Boulder County area as a solid guy,” his brother shared. “There were days we hit 15–20 different businesses. Each one, he went inside, looked for the boss, shook hands, shared a laugh, and we were on our way. He was well known and well liked.”

Those who knew Kevin say that his warmth wasn’t just part of his work — it was who he was. Whether caring for his rescue dogs or being there for a friend in need, Kevin’s first instinct was always the same: How can I help?

A Family Tradition of Helping Others

Kevin’s generosity was a reflection of his family’s values — ones rooted in compassion and community.

As his brother explained, “Making the determination of how to distribute your assets is not a light one to make. It was our father's, my brother's, and my belief that, in essence, it's about making a positive impact. Our mother and father were firm believers in helping others when we can. Those values were ever present in our lives and are still important today.”

That belief continues to ripple outward. Kevin’s brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Diane, now support food banks in their own community — shopping for groceries and delivering them personally to families in need. It’s a continuation of the same spirit Kevin embodied so effortlessly.

An Enduring Gift of Care

When Kevin passed away, his kindness didn’t stop. Through his estate, he made a bequest to Coal Creek Meals on Wheels — ensuring that his compassion would continue to nourish others long after he was gone.

“We are so very proud that Kevin chose to share his good fortune with others,” his brother wrote. “He was a warm, loving person who loved the people in his world. We miss him dearly and are so very glad he was able to make a positive impact for Meals on Wheels.”

His legacy now lives on through every meal delivered, every conversation shared, and every neighbor who feels seen and cared for because of his generosity.

The Ripple Effect of a Planned Gift

Kevin’s story reminds us that generosity isn’t just about what we do during our lifetime — it’s about the legacy we leave behind. Planned gifts, like Kevin’s, are powerful ways to extend one’s values into the future. They ensure that organizations like Coal Creek Meals on Wheels can continue to provide nutritious meals, social connection, and hope to neighbors in need for generations to come.

A planned gift doesn’t require great wealth — only great heart. For many, it’s a simple decision that reflects a lifetime of care and community. It’s a way to say, “I want my impact to last.”

How You Can Make a Difference

Remembering Kevin

“It’s coming up on two years since his passing,” his brother said. “I remember talking with him like it was yesterday — always upbeat, always positive. I do miss that infectious laugh.”

At Coal Creek Meals on Wheels, we’re deeply grateful for Kevin’s legacy — for his kindness, his generosity, and his lasting example of what it means to care for others.

Kevin’s story is a reminder that one person’s compassion can echo through an entire community.
